The kids' room
We only had two goals today: to visit the Baha'i House of Worship (about 25 km west of Frankfurt) and eat pizza.
The Baha'i House of Worship, one of only seven in the world, was smaller than we expected, but still lovely. We had tea in the bookstore, picked out some necklaces and postcards, and then walked up the the temple. We said some prayers for our neighbor, Ms. Kathryn, who was having cataract surgery back in Florida.

Back in the city, we parked the car at Kurt's flat and walked to a couple of pizza places nearby. The prices seemed comparable, so we chose the place that Kurt's neighbor recommended. We ordered five pizzas to share and water to drink. Restaurants here don't give you free water. If you ask for water, they bring you a bottle of water. We went through two bottles, and strangely the water was the most expensive part of the meal. Overall, still pretty darned reasonable though.
We went for a walk after gorging on pizza (we couldn't finish all five). When we passed Tegut (our grocery store) we were approached by the most unique panhandler I've ever encountered. First, the woman spoke to us in German, but she switched to English when she realized we didn't understand her. Her plea was for one euro, because she was really wanting sushi, and she had six euros, but sushi cost seven euros. Panhandling for sushi! I told her I had no cash, which was true, and we continued on our walk.
After our walk, we ended back at Tegut to get ice cream for dessert. We saw the sushi lady in line. She wasn't buying sushi. She was buying beer and sausage.
It's hard to tell, but Alex and Sofia's ice creams were in the shape of a hand holding up the pointer finger (as in We're #1) in the colors of the German flag. Alex has already eaten off the finger on his.
